366 Days Project: Day 60 - Walking Home

One of the necessary evils of my easy school life is having to take the bus home on the days I get out early, Wednesday and Friday. Unfortunately, the closest the bus drops off to my house is about 5 blocks away. It's a bit of a walk, but at least I get a bit of exercise from it...

366 Days Project: Day 59 - Just a Dream Away

Upon thinking what to do for today's post, I glanced around my room at the various posters I have up. So I thought, why not share one of them? This one is pretty small, but it's one of my favorites: A map of what Disney California Adventure will look like once Cars Land and Buena Vista Street open this summer.

366 Days Project: Day 58 - Budokai Tenkaichi

As I'm currently on a Dragon Ball Z kick, I recently decided to kick that kick up a notch and start playing one of the video games. The only multi-player game we have is Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Basically a bunch of fighting with punches and energy attacks. Cheap thrills, but it's fun :-)

366 Days Project: Day 57 - Five Guys

Last year I had the pleasure of trying Five Guys for the first time. It's an amazing burger joint with truly fantastic burgers. Unfortunately, it's also pretty expensive. So we had yet to make a second visit, until today! I got a yummy bacon burger, with fries on the side, of course (how could you not?). The burgers are great, but the fries are only subpar. All in all though, a great place to eat. Give it a shot if there's one near you!

366 Days Project: Day 56 - Mobile Magic

Ever since the Disney Mobile Magic app was first introduced strictly on Verizon phones back in November 2009, I've always wanted to try it out. It really confused me why Disney limited the access to this app so much. Even when Verizon started selling iPhones, they didn't have this app available on the App Store. But finally, it is available for everyone, even us AT&T customers!

I've been playing around with it yesterday and today, and I'm really impressed with it. I'm sure that the next time I go to Disneyland and actually use it in the park, it will seem even more impressing with all the unlocked features!

366 Days Project: Day 55 - Recording on Friday Once Again

Friday used to be the regular recording day for The Disneyland Gazette Podcast, but ever since I've started working, we've been recording on random days and times of the week. But for the first time in weeks, I did not work this Friday (today). So it was back to our old recording routine, for this week at least...

366 Days Project: Day 54 - Herdinand Moogellan

As promised, I am going to share some images from the 2012 Chick-fil-A cow calendar over the course of my 366 Days Project. The theme of this year's calendar is Trail Graizers; famous cows who have blazed paths that all lead to chicken. February highlights Herdinand Moogellan :P

366 Days Project: Day 53 - French Fried Deliciousness

A fact I am not afraid to admit is that I'm a picky eater. But one thing I'll always eat is french fries! My mom bought a different kind of french fries and they are absolutely delicious! The kind of food where you just want to go on eating them forever and ever and ever...

366 Days Project: Day 52 - The Androids Appear

Sometimes it's hard to think of what to post each day for my 366 Days Project. When in doubt, go with Dragon Ball Z! Last night we kicked off the Androids Saga. Trunks' foretelling has come true, and two evil Androids have shown up on an island in the middle of nowhere to wreak havoc on the world!

366 Days Project: Day 51 - Third Times the Charm

Today I went to TGI Fridays for the third time this year. It was yummy as usual. This time I got a 6oz steak and a rack of ribs. And it was almost free :-)

366 Days Project: Day 50 - Pot Brownies

My parents and brother wanted to try a new restaurant nearby called Freebirds. It's a burrito joint, and that kind of food is just a little too adventurous for me. So I got food elsewhere, then we went over to Freebirds. Honestly, whoever designed the place must have been smoking pot. It looked so psychedelic inside. They even sell "pot brownies"...

I'm sure the food is good, but the atmosphere killed it for me. Glad I got my Jack in the Box instead :-)

366 Days Project: Day 49 - Nuggets, Croutons, and Strips

Today I started my last shift of the week (finally...) at 11:00am and they finally decided to give me my lunch break at 4:00pm. I wanted 12 nuggets, but my alloted meal allowance would only allow me to get 8 nuggets and a medium fries. So afterwards, I was still quite hungry. I decided to try a pack of the croutons and tortilla strips usually used on salads. They were quite yummy indeed! :-)

366 Days Project: Day 48 - The Mysterious Youth

My brother and I got to one of our favorite parts of the whole Dragon Ball Z series today, the Trunks Saga. Turns out Frieza wasn't completely dead, and he was saved by his father King Cold. They plan a course to Earth with the intent of killing all of Goku's friends before he can arrive. However a mysterious youth turns up and easily does away with Frieza and his father. That youth's name: Trunks.

366 Days Project: Day 47 - Rumbly in My Tumbly

With me working until relatively late in the evening most nights, it's natural that I end up quite hungry at the end of my shift, especially considering I work at a restaurant! The picture bellow is my desk pretty much every evening...

366 Days Project: Day 46 - Appointment Made

Well I finally did it... Today I made an appointment to take my drivers permit test on Tuesday March 6th. I don't feel completely prepared right at this moment, but by making an appointment, it will give me the motivation to get down to business and learn. Here's hoping that in three weeks I actually pass!

366 Days Project: Day 45 - Garlic Jr.

As I mentioned in a previous post, my brother and I have become re-obsessed with Dragon Ball Z. Frieza has been defeated, Goku is no where to be found, and the evil Garlic Jr. has returned to try and conquer the Earth. And only Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin stand in his way. Will they be able to defeat Garlic Jr. without the help of Goku? My brother and I will soon find out :-)

366 Days Project: Day 44 - Walk the Dinosaur

This year, I'm taking a Sculpture class at school. Our current project is a clay whistle, and I decided to make a dinosaur. Today was the day we finally finished the project and firing preparation got underway. Unfortunately, just after I took the photo bellow, the tail snapped off. Hopefully I can glue it back on once it's fired...

366 Days Project: Day 43 - Party Like It's 1999

My family went to McDonalds today for some ice cream and I happened to notice the Happy Meal toy stand, where they had toys for the 3D re-release of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Immediately I felt like I was transported back to 1999, when I was just 5 years old; the perfect age to collect Happy Meal toys.

366 Days Project: Day 42 - Six Days a Week

The last few weeks, I have been working 5 days a week. I've thought about asking for one less day, because with school, it was just becoming a bit too much. But for this week's schedule, they've gone the other way and given me 6 days (aka: every day Chick-fil-A is open!). I'm gonna suck it up for this week, as the pay is quite enticing. But hopefully I get no more than 5 days in the future...

366 Days Project: Day 41 - Fun in the Sun for Almost Everyone

Last Friday, me and two friends had planned to go to the Redondo Beach Pier, but one of my friends had to pull out at the last minute, so me and my other friend ended up at McDonalds instead. So this week we were set to go to the Pier, and actually did. Another friend (who I used to like) came along with her "ex-boyfriend". So it was fun being at the Pier, but awkward at the same time...

366 Days Project: Day 40 - Kill Us All On Sight

We are now 9 days into February, and so my Doctor Who calendar now features a different set of characters; The Silence, introduced in the opening two-parter of series 6. They've got a lot of positive feedback, but personally I'm not too keen on them (or the Weeping Angels). I just don't think there's a lot that can be done with them. But maybe that's just me...

366 Days Project: Day 39 - Trail Grazers

I bought the Chick-fil-A 2012 cow calendar for my parents, mainly because it includes 12 coupons for some great items off the restaurant's menu. It also includes some really funny cow puns, which I'll share over the course of my 366 Days Project.

366 Days Project: Day 38 - The World's Greatest Sandwich

Disney made an announcement today that has rocked my world: Earl of Sandwich is coming to Downtown Disney in Anaheim! On my first trip to Las Vegas in 2009, I took my first bite of their delicious Full Montague sandwich, and since then, I've been hooked! I've been multiple times on my subsequent trips back to Las Vegas and to Walt Disney World. So to know that I'll soon be able to eat there pretty much whenever I want, is really exciting!

Roll on summer 2012!

366 Days Project: Day 37 - Rockin' the Sleeves

I tried out a slightly modified uniform for work today, basically wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath my Chick-fil-A shirt. It looked good, but even in tonight's chilly weather, I was a bit hot.

366 Days Project: Day 36 - Super Bowl Sunday at Disneyland

I went to Disneyland today for the first time in what felt like forever (thanks to work). For it being Super Bowl Sunday, it was surprisingly busy. But I still had fun. A highlight was riding The Haunted Mansion and it's a small world, which are now back to normal after a few months of holiday overlays.

I also had the chance to head up to the E Ticket Club at the Disneyland Hotel, thanks to my good friend and podcast co-host Kenny Siegel. The view up there is spectacular!

366 Days Project: Day 35 - Cashier Luke

A co-worker ordered me my allotted meal allowance using my own register, and so I now have a receipt with my own name on it! I might just have to frame it...

366 Days Project: Day 34 - I'm Lovin' It!

Today I had plans (rare for me) to go to the Redondo Beach Pier with a couple female co-workers/school friends of mine. One friend had to back out at the last minute, so my other friend and I went to McDonalds instead. Her sister showed up, and we ended up being there for like 2 hours. It was nice to socialize and chat for a couple hours. I really need to do this more often! :-)

366 Days Project: Day 33 - Here's Johnny!

Last year at school, I took a Study of Film class, and one of my favorite films we watched was Stanley Kubrick's classic movie, The Shining. Over the summer, I showed the movie to my parents, and this year I'm a teacher's assistant for that Film class. So this week my teacher showed the film again (my third time seeing it) and it was just as thrilling and awesome as the first time. The movie is pretty slow, but if you've got the patience to sit through it, it really pays off in the end!

366 Days Project: Day 32 - Dragon Ball Z

One of my favorite TV shows as a kid was the Japanese anime show Dragon Ball Z. Thanks to an off-the-cuff suggestion from my brother, we started watching the show again probably back in October or November, and I'm once again hooked! We're now up to the Frieza Saga, where the show's main protagonist, Goku, is in a battle to the death with the evil Frieza!
